Payments
Two sides. Your subscription is billed by Paddle. Your client invoices pay direct to your bank, or to your own Stripe if you want cards. Accordio takes 0% on the client side, either way.
TL;DR
Zero platform commission on client payments. Bank transfer is the default. Connect your own Stripe to accept cards on the same invoice (Stripe fees go to Stripe, not us). Plaid reconciles incoming bank deposits automatically. Your Legend subscription is billed by Paddle.
Two sides, no middleman
Your subscription pays for the software. Your client payments are between you and the client. Accordio never sits in the middle of client money.
Your Accordio subscription
Billed by Paddle. Manage payment method, billing cycle, invoices, and cancellation from the Paddle Customer Portal. Pay with card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Paddle handles tax and compliance on our behalf.
Your client invoices
Bank transfer by default. Card payments if you connect your own Stripe. Accordio never holds your money and never takes a cut. Every invoice has a public pay page with your bank details printed on it (region-aware: US routing, EU IBAN, UK sort code). Plaid reconciles the deposit to the invoice for you.
Managing your Accordio subscription
Legend is $39/month billed monthly, or $29/month billed yearly ($348/year). 14-day free trial, no card needed. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
- Open Settings and click Manage in Paddle.
- You're redirected to the Paddle Customer Portal.
- Update card, change billing cycle, download invoices, or cancel.
- Changes sync back to Accordio within a minute.
Getting paid for your work
When you send a client an invoice, Accordio generates a public pay page at a unique URL. The page shows the line items and your bank details. The client transfers directly to your account.
Region-aware bank fields
Bank fields adapt to your country so the invoice prints the format your client's bank expects.
- US. Routing number, account number, account type.
- EU. IBAN and BIC/SWIFT.
- UK. Sort code and account number.
Set them up in Settings → Payments. They appear on every invoice from then on.
Optional: card payments with Stripe
Some clients prefer to pay by card. Connect your own Stripe in Settings → Integrations and every invoice gets a Pay with card button next to your bank details. The card flow runs on your Stripe account, which means:
- Funds settle to your Stripe balance, not through us.
- Payments show in your Stripe Dashboard like any other Stripe charge.
- Stripe's usual processing fees apply (2.9% + 30¢ for US cards) and go to Stripe. Accordio adds nothing.
- Your existing accounting sync keeps working (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.).
When the client pays, Accordio marks the invoice paid and links the Stripe charge for reference. You can offer card-only, bank-only, or both per invoice.
Automatic reconciliation with Plaid
Manually checking your bank for every client payment is tedious. Connect your bank with Plaid and Accordio matches incoming deposits to your open invoices.
How matching works
- Client transfers money to your bank account.
- Plaid fires a webhook to Accordio with the deposit amount, payer name, and memo.
- Accordio matches against open invoices using amount, payer name, and memo.
- High-confidence matches mark the invoice paid automatically. Ambiguous ones show up in your inbox to confirm with one click.
Connecting your bank
- Go to Settings → Payments → Connect bank.
- Pick your bank from the Plaid list.
- Log in to your bank through Plaid's secure flow.
- Choose the account that receives client payments.
- Done. Deposits start matching automatically.
The same Plaid connection also feeds your Expenses module. One connection covers reconciliation and bookkeeping.
Zero platform commission
Accordio takes 0% of your client payments. No platform fee. No transaction percentage. Either path.
- Bank transfer. Money moves directly between your client's bank and yours. Your bank may charge for incoming wires depending on your country and account type.
- Stripe card payments. Stripe's standard fees apply (2.9% + 30¢ for US cards) and go to Stripe. Accordio adds nothing.
Security and compliance
- Paddle. PCI-DSS Level 1. Handles subscription billing and tax compliance.
- Stripe. PCI-DSS Level 1 (when connected for card payments). Your own Stripe account, your terms with Stripe. Accordio just makes the link.
- Plaid. Read-only, encrypted in transit and at rest. Used by Venmo, Robinhood, and most major fintechs.
- Your bank details. Stored encrypted. Only shown on pay pages of invoices you sent.
- Audit trail. Every invoice, reconciliation, and status change is logged with timestamp and source.
