Guides

Step-by-step walkthroughs for the most common workflows in Accordio.

Guide: Getting set up

Three short steps before you send your first contract.

1. Complete your profile

Your business details appear on every contract and invoice.

1

Add your business details

Go to Settings → Profile. Add business name, address, and contact info.
2

Upload your logo

Add a logo to brand contracts, invoices, and emails. A square PNG or SVG works best.
3

Pick a portal slug

Choose a custom URL for your client portal (e.g. accordio.ai/portal/your-name). Keep it short.

2. Add your bank details

Used on every client invoice's public pay page.

1

Open Settings → Payments

Select your region (US, EU, UK). Accordio shows the right fields for your country.
2

Enter your details

US: routing + account number. EU: IBAN + BIC. UK: sort code + account number.
3

Save

Bank details now appear on every invoice you send. You can update them anytime.

3. Connect Plaid for auto-reconciliation

Optional but recommended. Matches incoming payments to your open invoices.

1

Open Settings → Payments → Connect bank

Choose your bank from the Plaid list (10,000+ supported globally).
2

Log in through Plaid

Plaid handles the bank login in a secure window. Accordio never sees your bank credentials.
3

Pick the account that receives client payments

Done. From now on, deposits match to open invoices automatically.

You're set

Profile complete, bank details on file, Plaid connected. You're ready to send your first contract.

Guide: Contract to payment

The complete workflow from drafting a contract to getting paid and reconciled.

Draft and send a contract

1

Ask the AI agent or start from a template

Click New contract, or just ask the agent: "create a contract for ABC Corp, $5k fixed-price, 4 weeks, web design."
2

Pick engagement shape and jurisdiction

Fixed price, hourly, retainer, milestone, or hybrid. Choose your jurisdiction (US, UK, EU, AU, CA) so clauses match your local rules.
3

Review the risk score and missing clauses

A quality judge runs on every generation and flags missing clauses. Click repair to fix in one shot.
4

Send for signature

Email your client a link to review and sign. Add a custom message if you want.

Client reviews and signs

1

Client opens the email

A clean, branded email with a "View contract" button.
2

Client reads and asks questions

An embedded AI assistant on their side explains clauses in plain language. They never have to wait for you to be online.
3

Client signs

Type or draw a signature. ESIGN Act + eIDAS compliant with full audit trail.
4

You get notified

You get an email when signed. Both parties get a PDF copy.

Get paid and reconcile

1

Generate the invoice

From the signed contract or milestone, click Create invoice. Bank details print automatically.
2

Client transfers payment

Money goes directly from their bank to yours. Accordio takes 0%.
3

Plaid matches the deposit

The webhook fires, Accordio matches the deposit against the open invoice, and the invoice flips to Paid automatically.

Optional milestone billing

For fixed-price projects, break the work into milestones and bill per milestone. The agent generates each invoice from the contract on a schedule you set.

Guide: Quick invoice

Send a standalone invoice for one-off work or services outside a contract.

Create and send invoice

1

New invoice

Go to Invoices and click New invoice. Or ask the agent: "invoice Jane Doe $1,200 for the website refresh, due in 14 days."
2

Select or add client

Choose an existing client or add a new one inline.
3

Add line items

Each item has a description, quantity, and rate. Totals calculate automatically.
4

Set due date

Common options: upon receipt, Net 15, or Net 30.
5

Send

Client gets an email with a "View invoice" button and your bank details for transfer.

Client pays, Plaid matches

1

Client transfers

Bank-to-bank transfer using the details on the pay page.
2

Deposit lands

Plaid pings Accordio with the deposit details.
3

Invoice marked paid

High-confidence match → instant paid. Ambiguous → confirm with one click from your inbox.

Guide: Creating a winning proposal

Stand out from competitors with a polished proposal that closes deals.

Build your proposal

1

Frame the problem

Start by stating the problem you're solving. Show you understand their challenge.
2

Present your solution

Explain your approach and why it's the right fit. Include relevant experience or case studies.
3

Detail the scope

Be specific about deliverables. Use bullets. Include what's not included to prevent scope creep.
4

Offer pricing options

Use the pricing table to present 2-3 packages. Most clients pick the middle one.
5

Add a timeline

The timeline block visualizes phases. Builds confidence in your process.

Send and follow up

1

Send with a personal message

Mention limited availability or a window for response to create urgency.
2

Track engagement

See when the client views your proposal. The agent can nudge follow-ups for you on a schedule.
3

Convert to contract

When accepted, click Convert to contract. Carries over scope, pricing, and timeline.
